Cancer care in post conflict & fragile countries

In collaboration with the Kings Centre for Global Health the ICP has particular expertise in public policy, capability and planning research into programmes focused on urban / secondary care in post conflict, fragile countries. We are currently working on projects inAfghanistan, Libya and Sierra Leone. Additional report underway onSyria & cancer(ICP were involved in commissioning of cancer centres in Aleppo and Homs in mid 2000s prior to the civil war). The ICP with the NCI Centre for Global Health undertook a site visit toGeorgiain 2014 for a preliminary scoping mission to look at potential partnerships. In 2015 the ICP will be focusing on developing new programs in both low income fragile systems and post conflict analysis, particularly focused on Syria, Libya and Afghanistan. The ICP will also look at how a nascent cancer control system can be developed in the post Ebola Sierra Leone setting.
